Privacy policy

Note on the treatment of data collected for academic research.

Referring to the General Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO) and the State Data Protection Act (LDSG), we state that all data will be treated confidentially and will be processed anonymously, so that it will not be possible to draw any conclusions about any individual person. In accordance with the European Data Protection Regulation, your information and data will always be protected, even in case of an academic scientific publication. You can revoke your consent to participate in a research study at any time by sending an informal e-mail with the subject line "Withdrawal" to mwolfra@agric-econ.uni-kiel.de. Upon withdrawal, all data collected from you will be deleted, unless full anonymisation has already taken place.

In addition to the aforementioned right of withdrawal, you also have the right to

  •  receive information about your data which might be stored by the A&F Marketing department.
  •  have incorrect data about you corrected by us.
  •  request the deletion of your data which is no longer required.
  • request that the processing of your data is restricted under certain conditions. (This may be the case, for example, if deletion is not possible anymore but the data may and will not be further processed).
  •  the fact that your data is transferable. (This applies in particular if you have given your consent to the processing of your data or if the processing of the data is necessary to fulfil a contract. The right to data portability does not apply if your data are processed as part of the University's statutory task fulfilment).
  • complain to a supervisory authority.

If you believe that the processing of your data violates legal requirements, you can file a complaint with the supervisory authority (Independent Centre for Data Protection Schleswig-Holstein Holstenstraße 98, 24103 Kiel) or the Data Protection Officer of Kiel University (Daniela Geißler, email: dgeissler@praesidium.uni-kiel.de). If you wish to execute your rights, contact the university office or the university's official data protection officer. We would like to point out that in certain cases we may request additional information from you in order to establish your identity. For example, when exercising your right to information, we must ensure that personal information is not released to unauthorised persons.
